Thirty Days of Doctor Who - Day 13
The Victorian era is probably one of the coolest eras that the Doctor has visited over the course of his many lives. From the Sherlockian Talons of Weng Chiang to the more modern Tooth and Claw and The Unquiet Dead, shenanigans in this era tend to have held a slightly more gothic horror quality to them and often allow for interesting explorations of how the aliens aren’t remembered in history. Especially with this particular era being so recent.

About

You walk on the path and stand by a door
Warned you were by the sign on the moor.
‘Like a Hatter’s tea party is the house on the hill
Where madness reigns; avoid, if you will.’

These warnings ignored you enter the house
Indeed it is old; was that a woodlouse?
Papers lay strewn across the lone dinner table
And read them you might, if you are able.

Legends they tell of old forgotten times
And a traveller in a box with near a dozen lives.
Curiosity piqued further still your look
To discover these papers were a hook.

In Scotland far is a castle of magic
Where taught is a hero whose past is most tragic.
On eastern shores the sun rises in the morn
Where robots do battle and legends are born.

Disconnected from each other the papers appear
Just ravings of a madman it seems evidently clear.
Taking a match and lighting you turn
Leaving the smoking house in the moor to burn.
