Insane Normalcy

So this blog is nerdy, and what shall you find?
Why Evangelion, Runaways and Doctor Who mostly. There'll be bits and pieces of other things stitched in though.

Thirty Days of Doctor Who: Day Five
Again, there could have been any character here but one that’s left an impression on me is Captain Cook, from 1988’s The Greatest Show in the Galaxy. Like the Doctor he is a explorer, and they actually bond for a while over their adventures, but he is a pragmatic Machiavellian who turns on people in order to survive. I don’t see him as a villain in this serial (that’s the Clowns and some other people), but he’s a nasty character who’s put into a situation where teamwork was the best way out, and he’s just not cut for working with others.
